Teacher Biographies

Rosa Adams-Bussard 986-1499, Ext. 8186
Mrs. Bussard is the head band director at Lee's Summit North High School and teaches band at Richardson Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1994.  Mrs. Bussard has a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Percussion Performance from Central Missouri State University and a Master of Music Education and a Master of Percussion Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Cindy Allen 986-1499, Ext. 8771
Mrs. Allen is the music teacher at Richardson Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1993.  Mrs. Allen has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and a Bachelor of Science in Speech with an emphasis in Theatre from Central Missouri State University and a Master of Educational Technology from Mid-America Nazarene University.

Biljana Begley 986-1499, Ext. 7585
Mrs. Begley is the music teacher at Cedar Creek Elementary. She has been with the district since 2004. Mrs. Begley has a Bachelor of Music degree from the Music Conservatory “Cyrill and Methodie” in Yugoslavia and a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Rebecca Doss 986-1499, Ext. 8775
Mrs. Doss is the strings teacher at Woodland Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, Greenwood Elementary, and Hazel Grove Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1998.  Mrs. Doss has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Missouri - Columbia.

Mr. Braune is the music teacher at Greenwood Elementary and a drumline instructor at Lee’s Summit West High School.  He has been with the district since 2007. Mr. Braune has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Ms. Bray is the music teacher at Westview Elementary and Pleasant Lea Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1990.  Ms. Bray has a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music Education from Arkansas State University.

Mrs. Dahn is the music teacher at Mason Elementary and Meadow Lane Elementary. She has been with the district since 2004. Mrs. Dahn has a Bachelor of Music Education from Missouri State University.

Mrs. Eaton is the music teacher at Hawthorn Hill Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1998.  Mrs. Eaton has a Bachelor of Music Education from Southwest Baptist University.

Mrs. Files is the choral director at Summit Lakes Middle School.  She has been with the district since 2000. Mrs. Files has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music, a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Central Missouri State University, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Finch is a band director at Lee's Summit High School, Prairie View Elementary, and Longview Farm Elementary.  He has been with the district since 2001.  Mr. Finch has a Bachelor of Music in French Horn Performance from Wichita State University and a Master of Music Education from Florida State University.

Mr. Foreman is the music teacher at Highland Park Elementary.  He has been with the district since 1992.  Mr. Foreman has a Bachelor of Music Education from Evangel University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University.

Mike Gerhardt 986-1499, Ext. 8143
Mr. Gerhardt teaches band at Mason Elementary, Underwood Elementary, Trailridge Elementary and Hazel Grove Elementary.  He has been with the district since 2002.  Mr. Gerhardt has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Missouri Western State College.

Mr. Harrel is the assistant band director at Lee’s Summit West High School and a Digital Media Technology teacher at Summit Technology Academy. He has been with the district since 2004. Mr. Harrel has a Bachelor of Music Education from Missouri State University and a Master of Arts in Jazz Arranging and Composition from the University of North Texas.

Mr. Harvey is the band teacher at Woodland Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, Highland Park Elementary, and Summit Pointe Elementary.  He has been with the district since 1988.  Mr. Harvey has a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Performance Emphasis from Missouri Western State College and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Michigan State University.

Mrs. Harvey is the music teacher at Pleasant Lea Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1998.  Mrs. Harvey has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Missouri State University.

Mrs. Hicklin is the band director at Bernard Campbell Middle School. She has been with the district since 2000. Mrs. Hicklin has a Bachelor of Music Education from Central Methodist College and a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Ms. Holdmeyer is the choral director at Bernard Campbell Middle School.  She has been with the district since 2000. Ms. Holdmeyer has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

John Johnson 986-1499, Ext. 8884
Mr. Johnson is a band director at Lee's Summit North High School, Lee’s Summit Elementary, Meadow Lane Elementary, and Greenwood Elementary.  He has been with the district since 2000. Mr. Johnson has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central Methodist College and a Master of Secondary Education from Southwest Missouri State University.

Ms. Kavanaugh is the music teacher at Meadow Lane Elementary. She has been with the district since 2007. Ms. Kavanaugh has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Keeney is the orchestra director at Lee’s Summit North High School and Bernard Campbell Middle School. He has been with the district since 2004. Mr. Keeney has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music and a Master of Arts in Education from Webster University.

Mary Lubaroff 986-1499, Ext. 7483
Mrs. Lubaroff is the strings teacher at Trailridge Elementary, Meadow Lane Elementary, Highland Park Elementary, and Summit Pointe Elementary. She has been with the district since 2006. Mrs. Lubaroff has a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with Teacher Certification from the University of Iowa and a Master of Music Education from Kansas State University.

Mrs. Malotte is a choral director at Lee's Summit North High School.  She has been with the district since 2000. Mrs. Malotte has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Maria Maxwell 986-1499, Ext. 8748
Mrs. Maxwell is the strings teacher at Prairie View Elementary, Richardson Elementary, Underwood Elementary, and Pleasant Lea Elementary.  She was with the district from 1971-1984 and then returned in 1991.  Mrs. Maxwell has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Drury College and a Master of Arts in Violin Performance from Central Missouri State University.

Paul Morales 986-1499, Ext. 8830
Mr. Morales is the orchestra director Pleasant Lea Middle School and R-7 Music Department Chair.  He has been with the district since 1993.  Mr. Morales has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from William Jewell College and a Master of Music in Conducting and Music Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Mrs. Morales is the music teacher at Woodland Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1996.  Mrs. Morales has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from William Jewell College and a Master of Music in Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Gail Morton 986-1499, ext. 8783
Mrs. Morton is the music teacher at Hazel Grove Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1998.  Mrs. Morton has a Bachelor of Science in Vocal Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master of Science in Elementary Administration from Central Missouri State University. Mrs. Morton is very close to becoming Dr. Morton with a Doctorate of Education from St. Louis University.

Kirt Mosier 986-1499, Ext. 8164
Mr. Mosier is the orchestra director at Lee's Summit West High School and a Digital Media Technology teacher at Summit Technology Academy.  He has been with the district since 1995.  Mr. Mosier has a Bachelor of Music Education, a Performance Minor in Low Brass, and a Master of Music in Composition from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Munce is a choral director at Lee's Summit High School.  He has been with the district since 2007. Mr. Munce has a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music – Conducting from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Carla L. Oliver 986-1499, Ext. 8167
Mrs. Oliver is the Director of Choral Activities at Lee's Summit High School.  She has been with the district since 1983.  She has a Bachelor of Music Education from Wichita State University and a Master of Arts in Music History and Literature from Central Missouri State University.

Mrs. Pabst is the staff accompanist at Lee’s Summit West High School. She has been with the district since 2002. Mrs. Pabst has a Bachelor of Science in Vocal Music Education, K-12, with piano concentration from the University of Missouri – Columbia.

Nikki Pace 986-1499, Ext. 8954
Mrs. Pace is the music teacher at Lee’s Summit Elementary and Underwood Elementary. She has been with the district since 2005. Mrs. Pace has a Bachelor of Music Education from Southwest Baptist University and earned Kodaly certification through the University of Central Missouri.

Mrs. Patton is the music teacher at Trailridge Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1995.  Mrs. Patton has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Perry is the Director of Choral Activities at Lee's Summit North High School.  He has been with the district since 1985.  Mr. Perry has a Bachelor of Science in Education - Vocal Music from Missouri Western State College and Master of Music in Conducting from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Pherigo is the staff accompanist at Lee’s Summit North High School. He has been with the district since 2004.

Mrs. Puyear is the band director at Summit Lakes Middle School and Hawthorn Hill Elementary. She has been with the district since 2005. Mrs. Puyear has a Bachelor of Music Education from Central Methodist College and a Master of Music Education from Webster University.

Mrs. Ratigan is a music teacher at Richardson Elementary and Cedar Creek Elementary. She has been with the district since 2005. Mrs. Ratigan has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Mrs. Reed is the music teacher at Underwood Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1985.  Mrs. Reed has a Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master of Elementary Administration from Central Missouri State University.

Mrs. Riffie is a band director and the staff accompanist at Lee's Summit High School.  She has been with the district since 1992.  Mrs. Riffie has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Missouri - Columbia.

Mrs. Roark is the music teacher at Longview Farm Elementary.  She has been with the district since 1993.  Mrs. Roark has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from William Jewell College.

Ms. Rowland is the strings teacher at Summit Lakes Middle School, Longview Farm Elementary, and Hawthorn Hill Elementary.  She has been with the district since 2005. Ms. Rowland has a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Instrumental Performance – Cello from Wichita State University and a Master in Education from Baker University.

Mr. Thurmond is the band director at Lee's Summit West High School and Trailridge Elementary.  He has been with the district since 1999.  Mr. Thurmond has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Music Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Meghan Zeikle

Ms. Zeikle is the strings teacher at Lee’s Summit Elementary, Mason Elementary, Westview Elementary, and Hazel Grove Elementary. She has been with the district since 2008. Ms. Zeikle has a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Theology from Master’s College and Seminiary in California.
