The Lee's Summit R-7 School District has added Twitter to the district's communication tools. Updates will be posted approximately once each day and available to Twitter members who sign up as R-7 School District followers. You can view R-7 information at the Twitter site and also become a follower of R-7 news updates by clicking on "join today" at http://twitter.com/lsr7.

To learn more about Twitter, visit www.twitter.com. At the Twitter site, you can create an account and view a video that offers additional explanations. Twitter is a free online service. Through this "micro blog," users may update family, friends or professional peers in 140-character messages delivered to cell phones or through the Internet. Basically, Twitter asks users to answer the question: "What are you doing?"

Once you are signed up on Twitter, you can follow Lee's Summit R-7, receiving regular updates on your computer or phone. Please note that the district's Twitter page is called "LSR7."

Twitter will supplement the district's current communications vehicles, which include R-7 News Update, the district's electronic newsletter; Our Schools community newspaper; the R-7 website; SchoolMessenger recorded telephone messages; school newsletters; and information provided to the local media.
